Here is a better image of the coin. Weight is 14.2 g.

Thanks to Abhishek for pressing me to bring out the coppers from the cold storage.

........ and one in a little better condition.

Abhishek mentions that this coin still eludes him - which points to the rarity of the issue.

An unidentified coin is a piece of metal. An identified coin is a piece of history.

Thank you Peter. I owe it all to WoC and its stalwarts who have guided me in my early years. I distinctly remember Barry almost pushing me to pick up coppers (also State coppers) and this is a direct result of that. I was sure that if I found something unusual on a coin, one one at WoC would be there to help me with its attribution and this gave me the strength and the conviction to move in to uncharted territories.

Hi all,
Well, I did discuss it with Amit ji that the coins are really scarce and I did not have one in my the collection. But as luck would have it, I was indeed offered one and I did not think twice before adding it. Here is the piconly.

might be irrelevant but imgur is better than photobucket (at least it doesn't leave such a watermark on your own pics)

Well, when this was posted, Photobucket was the best........ Now enough softwares are available where one can resize images and post a small sized, clear image directly.
