The funny thing about collecting is that most people have a reason to collect.  Other than the pure enjoyment of it, I ventured into South Indian (including Madras Presidency and British India) due to the fact that I am actually from Tamil Nadu.  Unfortunately, I grew up exclusively in the United States (specifically NY).  This gave me an opportunity to learn more about my heritage  :)  I just recently acquired a lot of over 100 coins from South India.  Still waiting for the shipment, so once that comes a long, I'll post some of the coins here.  I figure most of you guys probably have never seen some of them as they are not common, even if you are from India.  This is in addition to the coins I already have in my collection...Hope you guys enjoy...

I grew up in several places in Queens..First in Forest Hills, then in Rego Park/Elmhurst.  Finally we settled into Long Island about 20years ago.  What got me started was when I went to India at the age of 10.  The "funny" looking coins where very interesting and hence it started my 30 year trek into numismatics...

Cheers,

Ram
