Weasels, sables and martens

The mustelid family of mammals includes badgers, honey badgers (ratels), martens, sables, minks, polecats, stoats, weasels, ferrets, otters and wolverines.

Croatia features a marten on the obverse of its modern 1 kuna and 2 and 5 kune coins.

The modern 1 kuna coin can be seen above (left).  To the right is a pattern coin of wartime Croatia, from which the modern design is clearly taken.
