Die sinker's initials A.H.N.
« on: September 22, 2012, 12:51:23 AM »
I recently examanied a good photograph of the 3 centesimi PONTE DE FERRO VENEZIA token from Venice. In tiny letters on the large numeral "3" are the initials A.H.N., presumably the designer or manufacturer of the token. My Italian collector friend says there is no name in Italian that begins with the letter "H".

Therefore, we must believe that this token was made outside of Italy. It appears to be from the latter part of the 19th century up to World War I.

Any ideas about the initials?
