The price of coins depend upon various key factors .
1. Condition. - Fine , extra fine , UN Circulated etc.
2. Mint year - some  coins are scarce  for particular years , due to short regime or coins melted or less mintage.
3. Era - in your case British era .
4.Metal composition - Price increase as per following sequence (but not necessary ) Gold > Silver> Copper / Copper -Nickel.
5. Weight - if heavily circulated weight changes from official weight.
