Discussion: 50 paise 2012 - Has it been issued

I haven't seen or heard of the 2012 50 paise, any inputs as to whether these are minted in year 2012 or not?
The last I had heard 6 months back was that the 2011 50 paise had very few takes [apart from collectors not one wanted them] ... new minting was not done ...

yes people are worried that they are not genuine some others are worried about the small size.  truly is amazing.

I haven't heard or seen 50p 2012 coin but very strangely I have got a Re.1 coin of 2012 Calcutta mint wrongly minted on a 50p Blank.........

Kolkata has not manufactured the 50 paise yet, so wondering how the blank reached there ... maybe they now have plans?? can you put the image ... how did you get it? in circulation or purchased? because there are quite a few fakes of this type of error ...

Thats precisely my point has how did the blank make it to the mint since Calcutta mint has yet to start the new 50p coin minting......................
I did not get this error coin in circulation but found it in the pack of 100coins (Not mint sealed pack) I purchased from a money changer..............

Are you sure ... because I got quite a few of C mint from the Hyderabad mint packet ... a case of Hyderabad mint forgetting to put the mint mark or die clog ...

i bought a whole gunny bag from c mint dont worry there were no star mint marks in that one

may be they will either issue it by the end of this year or may not issue it at all...

At the Ahmedabad fair, I talked to one or two dealers. The opinion is that there is no word from the mint about the mintage of these coins. Their opinion is that the mint may have minted the coins and are sitting on stocks and may come out a few years  from now.......but........it is also possible that these have not yet been minted with the date 2012.

for unc coins the finish is a dead give away.  having said that it might be difficult when the coins get circulated which brings us to the question of whether these coins will actually circulate.  i think i might have made a historic blunder of epic proportions by getting rid of those coins i just didnt think they could possibly be scarce let alone rare.
