1/2 Pices are hard to find! I would grade your 1/2 Pice and your 1/12 Anna as MS 63-64.

I have a very similar 1/2 Pice which graded MS 63 RB. Here are some pics.

My goal for 2017 is to finish finish my British India copper collection (1/4 anna, 1/2 Pice and 1/12 anna) by year and Mintmark. Any help with missing coins in BU grades is highly appreciated.

@ abhinumis, Very nice coins. Specially I love 1/2 pice. In my opinion, 1/2 pice is MS 63-64. Where as 1/12 ( The observe image is not very clear), i would grade as MS-63.

@ brokencompass, Very nice coin. I have one question. Generally in KGV graded coins, I have seen some wear at 6 O'clock position. same in your coin. Is that OK?

abhinumis

Thank u Suraj and Manojji for grading it.. The 1/12 anna in the pic looks a bit brownish but in hand it is bright red. The topping on the cake is that I got both for 75 rupee/piece. Would like more comments on the coins.
@ Suraj- Excellent coin. How do u put these larger images??

Your pictures have unnecessary high quality. Here is the same picture you posted above at the same weight (60k) but at a lower quality (40%).

Really nice coins Abhishek and @brokencompass!

In my experience the 1/2 Pice are the most difficult to get due to the limited numbers minted and the limited circulation they received.  If you look across the different monarchs the ½ Rupee has the lowest mintage number among the silver coins and the ½ Pice has the lowest mintage number among the copper coins.

According to Pridmore the 1/2 Pice only really circulated in the former Bengal Presidency area and were only minted by the Calcutta mint.

Thanks Harry for noting about the circulation of 1/2 pice. But no words on grading the 2 coins!!??

75 Rupees is a fantastic price for a coin in that condition! You got a fantastic deal!

I host the images on my image folder and just link them up here on WOC.

I am not sure I understand what you mean by wear at 6 O clock. If you are referring to the area around the elephant, that is the mostly the design of the coin itself and sometimes a result of a weak strike. Wear of any kind on this coin would usually bump it down to a non-Mint state grade.
