@josephjk

I see the auction was held at the ANA show in Philadelphia...there is an ANA show this October in Dallas, TX.

Prosit

I have tentative plans to go to the Dallas show but the odds aren't looking too good.  If I managed to do it, it would be the first large show I have ever attended.

@josephjk

The TNA show is the biggest one I've attended so far, I'm looking forward to the October show and meanwhile saving up some money in anticipation ;D

Prosit

If I do go I will not be looking for an 1873 cc dime with or without arrows.  ;)

Another occasion to be grateful for collecting by type. I'll gladly leave this one to another anonymous "group of investors", who, in due time, will need to find yet another "group of investors" to take it off their hands.

An unidentified coin is a piece of metal. An identified coin is a piece of history.

If this is the true "value" of this coin what is a Mahmud Bandar coin of Shah Alam 1 really worth?

chrisild

Guess that the "true value" of such a piece is what the winning bidder is willing to give. ;) And if somebody spends that much on such a piece ...  Could of course be that the new owner is an institution such as a museum. Who knows.
