Macau. 5 Avos, 1952, seemingly quite a scarce coin with only 500.000 minted

Saying that, the Macao population now is only about 500,000 people. Is it a hard piece to get a hold of?

I've no idea, it's a coin I've had for 40 years or so

Type is not difficult (if you want it quickly, try Portuguese dealers), but it is not often found in this condition. "Real beauty increases when you approach" goes for this enlargement as well.

An unidentified coin is a piece of metal. An identified coin is a piece of history.

It's another of many of my coins that have darkened on one side due to laying untouched for so long, the lighter side was face down on the felt in the coin tray & I suppose atmospheric pollution is to blame for the darkening

This coin is easy to get in Hong Kong, but harder in this grade.
