Another addition to my BI half rupee collection. The 1914 Bombay mint half rupee with a mintage of just over 900,000 is I think a semi-key date of this series. I love the toning on this particular piece. What do you guys think? As always share pics if you have one.

Thanks

Yes, another gem from Cranko. Sanjay Gandhi has a superb collection of British India NGC Certified coins.

BD, it's a beautiful coin!! Love the surfaces!!
My goal for 2017 is to finish finish my British India copper collection (1/4 anna, 1/2 Pice and 1/12 anna) by year and Mintmark. Any help with missing coins in BU grades is highly appreciated.

Very nice gem! I agree with brokencompass - love the surface especially of the reverse.   You are correct,  mintage wise its the lowest in the KGV 1/2 Rupee series and so its scarce especially in the grade that you have it in.    Although, the 1911 1/2 Rupee is the rarest "Type" coin for BI type collectors.  So all you need to do is change the 4 to a 1 and the elephant to a pig and you are set!!

Thanks Harry. Yes the coin has booming luster with some nice toning better visible in hand. Now only if I could find that 1911 half rupee.  ;)
