Dear Friends

In the year 2010, Mumbai mint issued coins of Rs5 & Rs 1000 on the occasion of 1000 years of Brihadeeswarar Temple in Thanjavur. This was the first 1000 Rs coin issued by GOI. Mumbai mint had started booking of many sets issued after Thanjavur like ICMR & Civil Aviation.

The mint will now start booking of Thanjaur Temple coins very soon. The 1000 Rs coin has 80% silver instead of 50%. The weight, diameter thickness & look of quarternary alloy and silver alloy are same. The only difference is in the composition. The Quarternary Alloy has 50% Ag + 40% Cu + 5% Ni + 5% Zn. Whereas the silver alloy contains 80% Ag + 20% Cu.

I am sure The great Oracle Baba will be waiting gleefully for mint to make a mistake and gift him an OMS  ;D ;D  ;D

Great News Sanjayji, eagerly await the advertisment in the newspaper.
On the other hand, will also queue up outside the Mint; hopefully like the ICMR and Civil Aviation, they will also make this set available over the counter

you seem to be very sure that i will get an OMS.

Is there something we dont know?   ;D ;D ;D ;D

The cost of 100 rupee mint is usually 3000-3500 now days. By this logic, the cost of this set would be nothing less than 10000 each.  ;D We are talking about a 1000 rupee coin here. Arent we?
Warm Regards,
Mackie

Dear Mackie
As per my fair assessment, the cost should be in the range of Rs 5.0 k.  Lets wait and watch for the assessment of mint

Dear Oracle

I made my prediction based on the quality standards of Mumbai mint. If HE Pratibha Patil removes dust from her Presidential VVIP sets and examines them in detail...I will not be surprised if she discovers some die crack error in one of her Presidential VVIP sets.  ;D  ;D ;D  ;D. Anything is possible now a days..
