I got a few 2012 Rs 2 from circulation. All Mumbai mint. Havent come across the Re 1, Rs 5 & Rs 10. Are 50p to be minted?

I too haven't seen any coins dated 2012 so far but I must admit that I hardly deal with coins these days so it's really not very surprising.

1 and 2 rs coins do circulate in some numbers. Havent seen 5; 10 rs 2012coins. Havent come across 50 p 2011; so 2012 would be more difficult;

The new Rs 2 of 'R' symbol of 2011 have same edge?
I found that Mumbai, hyderabad n noida mint have milled edge while kolkata mint issued it in plain edge.

are 2012 coins going to be scarce? any news (or speculation) on decrease in production due to rising cost of the material or something? Personally the new design (FSS coins) is'nt too exciting for me...


2011, 2012 what i have seen are all milled/reeded from BBay mint.

Hopefully in few months/years, coins from other mints could be in circulation in BBay.

The design of Rs 1 was same almost 5 decades (54 years), except shape. I personally think that the design of coins must be change in 8 to 10 years.
