Does there exist any book or magazine article or web site which covers Swiss Schutzentalers since 1960?   I hope for pictures because I collect by theme and text descriptions won't tell me enough.

Martin's "Swiss Shooting Medals" and the new book by Richter, "Die Schutzentaler.." do not cover this period.  Richter's email said only that he is working on such a book but it won't be out till 2010 or later.

Thanks for any info.

I think this book would qualify. Not cheap, though.

An unidentified coin is a piece of metal. An identified coin is a piece of history.

The 5th edition of the Krause "Unusual World Coins" catalogue appears to list many recent shooting thalers, and most are illustrated.

Judging from the ISBN, that is the book (actually two volumes, costs €98 here) by Jürg Richter which Bob mentioned. So that will probably not be very helpful until the new issue comes out in 2010 ...

Oh, and - hello Bob! Remember the Rhine Tower dinner? ;D

I have the Richter books. Excellent catalog (also tracks the Martin and Krause numbers) and amazing photography.
Obviously the new issues to come will not be in these two volumes.

In case anybody is interested in a few sample pages:
http://www.gietl-verlag.de/blaetterkatalog/Buecher/Richter-Schuetzen-Jetons-Medaillen/blaetterkatalog/index.php

The first pages (1-20) are about the Schützenjetons covered in vol. 2 of the book. The remaining pages are the introductory part (prefaces, and guns ...) of vol. 1 which is about the Schützentaler and Schützenmedaillen.
