I see the Rs 5 coin eBay. Initially I mistook this for the 2009 60 years of Commonwealth Parliament.
The design is same except for the Leged. Reusability is always welcome in all walks of life, but in coin design we could have done something different or better

Any luck guys staying near fort who got this coin in loose change from the chaiwala

Here's the pic from that ebay sale....quite terrible. FYI, Bombay mint, but seems to have the fat lion

Bimat

That's an exceptionally overwhelming picture of parliament on the coin. ;D I may not even try to get the bimetallic Rs10 coin...(I anyway don't collect other Republic India coins..only bimetallic issues)..it's so pathetic to see the same design being repeated on every coin! >:(

Sigh !

It seems that  after  13 December 2001, again our  Parliament House is attacked by group of individuals from mint & design  approval authorities. :-[ :-[ :-[ :-[

Shameless design and quality. :-\ :-\

Cheers ;D

Most people consider this design to be the best ever coming out from India.  The comment was true for the 1 rupee.  Due to change of metal and size the appeal has been lost but the design keeps coming back.  There is nothing wrong with this as the obverse is different but still ...   I expect this design to make quite a splash in the 10 rupee version.  Lets wait and watch.

No marks for guessing which mint gets the XEROX award for the best copy and worst design....

Thx Paise.

Ok, i found one at the toll naka.

2 observations:
1) just as PP said, it has a fat lion and mumbai mint (diamond)
2) as it looks in the pic displayed by PP, it has a small "L" in the pathway leading to the parliament.
