A curious token from Milan
« on: April 16, 2012, 10:30:44 PM »
This is another item I have had knocking around for many years. I only bought it because it features a steam road roller. I have managed to find out that the issuer was a building contractor in Milan but have no idea what use this item had. Discounting my own warped theory that it might be an old lottery ticket for a "rollover" (!) I would be interested to know if anyone has any more information on it, including approximate date of issue.

Brass, traces of white metal plating, diameter 28mm.

Toll road (highway) token in north of Italy.

The Puricelli Company was the builder of highways and toll ways. One of the first in the world.
