I am often amazed at the rarity of so many of the coins on eBay; even some of the rare ones from Readers Digest appear at times.  ;D

The mysterious script leads me to think to inverted and stylized nagari letters  ???

As WoC experts are in the fog... :) I would suggest : दारग written दागॆ  , few pilgrimage places in India are named, I think "Dargah"(or Dargh / Dagar)) / both for hindu and muslim.

I am not too sure about which part of Kerala these come from. But, these are (and were) not official currency. My guess would be that these are recently made to possibly pass off to collectors as coins.
