Good coins Santosh bhau.. Only thaty I didn't see the edge damage on the 1 rupee coin. Lahore mint are generally sold at a slightly higher prices than calcutta or bombay mints

Fun date set, Santosh. The year 1944 is notable in world history, but it is also one of those years important for the preparation of Indian independence. Here is a portal for more information.

An unidentified coin is a piece of metal. An identified coin is a piece of history.

Santosh -  Is it an optical illusion, or is there doubling of the "R" and "N" on the one Rupee?

Interesting link Peter! What a critical year and period this was for world and Indian history. A period of turning points for human civilization. The beginning of the end of World War II which changed the course of history and the end of a long struggle for India's independence.

Looks like light reflecting from two sides (optical illusion) - I see it in the "N" of the second coin also

SantoshK

Hi,
Its optical illusion, and there is handshake when i clicked it. I will capture it with proper care and upload the images once again for your review.

Santosh, please take the following statements positively. I only bring up this point as it will help you in future. The 1944 Rupee and 1/2 rupee appear polished from the shiny appearance of the coin. Even though the coins appear to be uncirculated the light reflected from the surface does not give indication of mint luster but has a mirrored look to it (top image 1 rupee). These coins when in uncirculated state have nice frosty look with cartwheel mint luster. Both these coins also have damage on the rims. Hope you did not pay a lot over melt for these coins.
The ΒΌ rupee shows some honest wear and would grade Fine.

Thanks Bhushan.
I agree with you. I have paid 1200/- for all these 3 coins. Since they are Lahore mint bit costlier then Mumbai/calcutta mint coins
