I came across a dealer who had a  1942 1/4 RUPEE King George VI  in Copper , and now it has also found its way on the bay , i remember the catalogue  not having any coin such as this, except for the 1938 1/2 rupee  . Any advise on this will be of great help .

My take is that it was meant to be silvered. It may have been innocent, as basic material for a jeweller, or it may have been meant to deceive. It is certainly not worth the price asked.

An unidentified coin is a piece of metal. An identified coin is a piece of history.
