Half page Diamond Jubilee Celebration advertisement is published in Today's Indian Express.
Pranab da will be chief guest. Function is scheduled today @5.30 pm.
Will the coins released today? any one attending the same?

there are some legends in indian numismatics who dont need to visit such functions they get their coins delivered to them at their home in VVVIp packaging through official means even the bigwigs of the spmcil look out for these numismatic celebrities.  just in case you are thinking i am talking about myself i am not.

I am uploading a close up of the reverse side. It contains SPMCIL logo, profile of mint building & 1962-2012. This is flanked by words '60 Years of India Government Mint Kolkata' in English & Hindi. The profile of the mint building is similar to the pic depicted on the token issued by the mint in 1980s and 1990s along-with the proof sets.

How can i make fun of you like that?  The governor himself comes to you 4 years in advance to take permission for the coin theme.  otherwise the mint would close down   

If i was VVIp then i would feel jealous i am but a humble aam aadmi who struggles to get by day after day

I understand that the weight of Rs 60 coin is 22.5 gms (less than standard weight of 35 gms for high denomination coins). Since the weight is less; dia is also less

Kansalji is the last authority on when the coin would be available for booking.
But my guess is this would be around September / November.
