Dear Shakhar,

I got the difference. Thanks a lot. But I am not fortunate enough to find a 5 panel rupee :-(. I also notice pointed sepal at your B/II, I/O rupee. Are all pointed sepals rare?
I request you to send me a copy of the files to my email address:

Dear Harry,

Hope tomorrow I shall post all of my 1862 rupees. But I am afraid, you will not like them. They are badly worn.

Oh no! I'm beginning to get a bad rep! Islam, just because I don't collect circulated coins that does not mean anything. I'm no expert.  I found Sekhar's post and coins extremely interesting and informative! I love this stuff... please do post.

Here is a slightly larger pic of the sepal, looks rounded not pointed.

Sekhar - sorry for mis-spelling your name in my posts!!

@Harry: sepals of my coins are like yours. So, mine are not pointed too.

Yes you can see the difference between the two when they are together. Sekhar's coin (pointed sepal) is on the left and my coin (rounded sepal) is on the right.

Dear Harry and Tanka,

Any picture you find interesting, Please download to a reference folder on your Computer. Number the picture. Take out a printout of the same, and write your own notes on your observations on the printout. Put this in your file.  I know what all I am suggesting is really cumbersome, but it will help you in the long-run.

Is type III reverse of 1862 rupees commonly found? I found only one in my life and guess it as a rare one. Please share your experience.

Islam : I don't have Type III neither in Obverse A or B in my collection.
