Another addition to my slowly forming 1791 EIC Pice Proof Set. I would describe this coin as nice brown with mirror like fields. The visible marks are on the holder and not on the coin. Let me know what you think.

Thanks

By now, you must have built up a great collection of British India Certified coins. :) :) :)

My goal for 2017 is to finish finish my British India copper collection (1/4 anna, 1/2 Pice and 1/12 anna) by year and Mintmark. Any help with missing coins in BU grades is highly appreciated.

Bhushan - Not only is your coin an excellent coin but the picture of it is awesome too! What camera and photo editing tool do you use?

Thanks Harry. I am using a Nikon D90 with a Sigma 180f 3.5 Macro lens. The pics are shot raw and then processed in CaptureNX2 and Photoshop4 .

Here is my proof 1794 EIC 1 Pice (I think). I purchased it as a 1 pice proof many years ago but after seeing Bhushan's posts of his 2, 1 and 1/2 pice I can't tell for sure what mine is. How can you identify the denomination? Were these coins only struck in proofs or were there any business strikes made for general circulation?

Harry , check out the link below:

Look under Bombay Presidency->Soho Mint.
The proof should have reflective mirror like fields.
Thanks

Thanks Bhushan, can you help identify the rev type on my coin? Its a proof but I'm not sure if its of type I or type III.  Also there does not seem to be a denomination on these coins, so I am guessing its the size of the coin that determines its denomination. Is this correct?

Yes, that's correct. The size of the coin determines the denomination.

I think the coin you have is the proof. I hardly ever see these coins being attributed as a Business strike.

Thanks for confirming.  Yes, I hardly see the business strikes being offered even though there were 7.8 million minted (although relatively a slightly low mintage).
