Hi All
Recently i have taken the william 4 coin at a very minimum price. there is incused 'F' on this coin. apart from this i also observed there is some 'T' shape punch park on the neck. So does this punch mark talks about anythings or anything specific about it? please let me know anyone of you have any idea

These coins are really hard to find now a days. Did you buy it?

FosseWay

It's always hard to tell these things from a photo, but my fake radar got a blip off that. Does it weigh the right amount? (11.66 g)

Something about the surface and the detail looks 'soapy' to me, but on a photograph as I say that could just be from good honest wear. Equally it might have been attacked with Brasso or some similar diabolical substance in the past.

The other thing I wonder about is the corrosion or whatever it is going on on the heads side. Indian-purity silver (91.7%) shouldn't corrode like that. If it's just grot that can be scraped off, then fine.

This coin has undergone a combination of wear and polish abuse...you can make out the pog marks on the tails side that its been severely cleaned by acid or other substance. I suspect the other scratches are probably the result of circulation....Though, i don't think this coin is particularly hard to find in a more decent condition (compared to this one, that shouldn't be too hard)

Seems to me genuine but experinced some harsh owners. I can read F incused.

The "T" punch mark is a punch mark after minting of the coin. The major catalogues do not list any coin with "T" punchmark.
The various mintmarks found on William IIII Coins are RS incused, F incused, F raised.

Hi
It's a genuine coin and as of now I don't want to clean this coin. As you mentioned the corroded portion can be cleaned but I don't want to do that. This coin I have purchased at a very fair price. Rs.1500/- I search of a condition coin and hope to get soon. I have also not seen this punch mark "T"  or heard about it. So just thought anyone know about it.
Soon I will post the good condition coin.
