Akona is currently busy with a research project on KORA Mint.

Here is my collection of Mughal Coins from KORA Mint.

This coins are rather fantastic thank you. But do you see the dotted cross on the last coin on the obverse? That is important as is the quatrefoil and on the obverse of the second coin the small bud? The trisul as well. Trivia or something more?

Now let's find a coin that we can clearly see the whole of the mint name inscribed!

I have told one of my Friends, who has a good collection of old Indian Coins, to give me some KORA coins, with full mint name on them.

Let's wait for the coins.

The coins posted on the other Kora threads together with these make up a wonderful collection and a great starting point when you add them to what is already written in Salvette's notes. One of our other members will have his collection available early next month so we have a great working basis.

A little later there will be a need for coins from some of the more obscure mints in the region of Kora. I think this might be a little more challenging.

...........and here are mine. 4 from the reign of Muhammad Shah and 1 of Alamgir II. The differences in the marks are fascinating to say the least.
