The castle of Neuschwanstein, Bavaria, was little known until it appeared as a location in the film "Chitty Chitty Bang Bang"

Little known in the Anglo-Saxon world maybe. ;D  Here is a series of Danish coins with towers; they actually did a theme series between 2003 and 2007: Ten coins with towers. Attached is an image that shows them all. For details in English look here: http://www.royalmint.dk/dkm/UK/Themes.nsf/side/Tower_coins_!OpenDocument

I've done the tour of Neuschwanstein - but never knew it was in that film.  Maybe I'm a traitor or something :)

Or you saw the castle on a "coin" "from" Palau and decided to visit the place. Neuschwanstein, that is. 8)

Bimetallic coins are very hard to scan. Here's what the original looks like.

An unidentified coin is a piece of metal. An identified coin is a piece of history.
