Here's a 1941 trial strike of a Finnish 10 pennia. It comes from a site called Natko's numismatic pages. We have a member here called Natko. I wonder if it's his?

Anyway, the flowers in the design are apparently described as rosettes: stylised versions of roses.

Heraldic roses, actually, not something that grows on plants. You'll find them blooming all over England, but especially in Lancaster and York and touristy places such as Stratford-upon-Avon.
