Thanks for that list and the images. :) Well, had it been up to me, I would have used a design similar to the Guimarães €2.50 piece for the €2 coin. The latter is a little too abstract in my opinion ...

Theoretically only the first two images belong here; the other pieces are collector coins. But it's pretty much impossible to split a single post into two. ;) More about the Guimarães €2 commem is here: http://www.worldofcoins.eu/forum/index.php/topic,13155.0.html

In what metal will the €5 be struck?

Peter
An unidentified coin is a piece of metal. An identified coin is a piece of history.

Cu-Ni (BU version) and gold (proof version). See the first line of the first post. ;) But I was surprised myself - would have made more sense, in my opinion, to use the same denomination for all issues of that series ...

HI
In the first topic you can find a PDF with the complete information of all emissions

Bimat

So no €7.5 coin this year? Why?

I have also heard that mintage of TYE issue will be just above half million like 2011 CC... ::)

The "Coin Treasures" serie follow the diameter of the original coins. So the values and sizes are different.
Again you can find in the first topic the quantities of emissions (see PDF). 500.000 is correct for the two 2€ coins

Did not want to tear the entire topic apart ;) so I just moved the recent posts, about collector coins (to be) issued in 2012, to the Collector Coins forum.

Update: The €10 collector coin (20th Anniversary of Latin American Series) was issued yesterday (November 21) and with this issue, I believe that Portugal has completed it's numismatic program for 2012. :) Note that the Cu-Ni version can still be had for face while silver proof version will cost more...
