Coins needs confirmation
« on: November 05, 2012, 04:56:11 PM »
Dear Friends,
I have few coins which are not identified by me. They are old coins from India. I have shown them to some friends and they have identified some of them. But still I am putting images of all those coins here to be 100% sure and finally labeled them with the final details I will get from here. So please help me with these coins.

Kindly try to put following details -
[1] Who issued it - the king, emperor or the dynasty
[2] When it was issued - the year or the duration of reign
Anything additional would be absolutely great...

At start I am putting 7 of such coins.
Thanks and appreciation in advance. :)

Hello Anupam,

Your coins are from very different eras and regions. That makes it difficult to treat them all in one thread. Please re-submit the coins in separate thread, so that each can be put in the correct board after identification.

In addition, it is good form to make sure that the coins are in the right position. If you don't know what the right position is, I am sure some members can help you.

Lastly, some coins are hard to read. If you are asking for identification, state metal, approximate diameter and weight. Then, colour doesn't matter, so you can use graphic manipulation software to increase contrast. This will increase your chances of getting an identification.

An unidentified coin is a piece of metal. An identified coin is a piece of history.

I am not a big expert, just an inexperienced collector:

1. Gujarat sultanate AH.93?
2.Porbandar? Nawanagar?
3. Cholas
4. Bahmani sultanate AH 87?
5. Late Kushanas
6. Bengal Presidency
7. Again Nawanagar or Porbandar?
