Some other pitis? 1
« on: January 02, 2012, 09:07:41 PM »
Just because of curiosity I bought a small lot of some 10 coins, discribed as Palembang pitis.
I have the impression most of them are indeed from Palembang, but I cannot be certain. I looked already at this thread and found similar coins. I also downloaded Millies, but the images are so unclear for an eye not used to the script that it's almost useless. It only gives possibilities.

So I decided to ask for some help.
Here are the first 2 coins. They are uniface and measure around 14 mm: the first measuring 13.5 mm (hole 6.5 mm) and the second 14.5 mm (hole 7 mm). I can see almost nothing on the first coin.

This is also a Palembang pitis. In the words of NvdC:

No. 204-217 are unclear; on some, one can just read the word Palembang, but most show only curls and signs that cannot be read. My best guess would be NvdC 212 or 214.

An unidentified coin is a piece of metal. An identified coin is a piece of history.
