C'mon Sanjay... Let's play the guessing game  ;D ...maybe to make it interesting, I'll have to think of a little prize to whoever's guess eventually turns out to be an actual theme..

paisepagal

I hereby ban Sanjay Kansal from playing the guessing game  ;D. I hereby ban The Oracle from the game also by virtue of the prize I shall soon unveil (it's too LITTLE for his taste)  ;D

Watch this space and keep your eyes peeled  :o  :o  :o

As promised.... the prize has now been unveiled  8)

Since we are guessing about the future, I thought it would be poignant that the prize should come from the past ;D. Check out the sample picture. Whoever guesses themes that turn out correct will receive 10 pieces of these (I would grade the coins between XF+ to AU).

The ground rules to receive the prize
- Anyone can participate whether in India or not
- There's no first, second or third prize. If your guess turns out to be true, you win!
- You guess two themes correctly, you win 20 pieces and so on.
- The competition is opened until 31 Jan 2012 and only applicable to coins that are officially unveiled until 31 Dec 2012
- I will know whether you are randomly guessing or not ! If you are referring to a reliable source (like Sanjay or Pabitra), it won't be counted. I'm on most mailing lists possible, so I'll know  >:D

So far we have two participants by default (let me know if i missed anyone out)
-Bimat : 125th Anniv S Ramanujan
-Vivek : Centenary of Jana Gana Mana

PS.Can the moderator change the headline to "Possible Indian Commemorative Coins in 2012"

Good Luck!

akona20

The Centenary of Indian cinema.

Now I would also like a second guess if that is allowed.

Coinsforever

I already voted previously  for Swami vivekananda's coin as one of the possible commemorative.

- Swami Vivekananda's  commemorative.

2nd Theme would be
.
- 150 years of Madan Mohanama Malaviya.

Cheers ;D

Ah wait, I must clarify, it must be something that I have not already suggested... So no Indian cinema, ASI etc (possible themes I've posted)... vivekananda is mostly confirmed since last year. I shall not make further guesses till the competition is closed..

A partial aim of this competition is to encourage members to rummage though historical facts and come up with proposals thereby bringing to light facets of our rich and diverse cultural and historical legacy

So far only bimat and Vivek qualify with their guesses

paisepagal

And yes, you can make as many new and even random guesses as you like... If you turn out right... That many you win   ;D

akona20

Hmmm I was unaware of a posting about Indian cinema.

Well this one won't happen but it should for a variety of reasons.

i knew there was a catch to the contest.  BTW if the mints issue more coins because of this thread you will be buying them for me with money from your own pocket.  I am already out of 30000 and you are playing a dangerous game  ;D

BTW since i cant play i am willing to outsource my guesses all i ask is for half of your winnings  ;D

you have to send the coins to me in advance though

I'll post in a bit those themes I've suggested and that are off limits now... So we have a third contender in akona20 !

paisepagal

Organizing my first contest so do bear with me  ;D

Just to keepin mind, only one person can guess a particular theme... For example... 100 years of the national anthem has been proposed by Vivek... So no second person can propose this theme As well
