Greetings to all this first day of 2012!

The Mumbai mint has opened a counter somewhere on it's premises and each person can buy one set each of whatevers on the list from Monday to Friday 10am to 12pm.

Credit/ debit cards accept along with dd... No cheques

See you tomorrow... Not risking if they are all sold out in the first few hours  ;D

Whatevers?  That might be a pretty big list? Sounds interesting though.

I have my own doubts. I think only the current new Proof and UNC sets will be for sell on the counter. At the most, they will be selling the single UNC coin sets, not yet opened for booking.

Let's wait for the reply from Paisepagal.

Hi Paisa,

Can you pls post the scan of the advertisement as I am from Calcutta and could not find the ad in the Calcutta issue.....

Almost made history this morning  ;D. Reached in time with my dad and sis to be the 2nd, 3rd and 4th customers of the Mint Shop (just after a charming lady from Shivaji Park). Thanks to my dad who suggested the token system, the mint wasn't in as much chaos as it would have been (not saying that it isn't a terribly chaotic scenario over there  ;D)

Nicely done up shop and I think a good initiative from the mint though they need to obviously improve the sales procedure

Hello Paisepagal
Which set did you get ? and what is the cost for each set?
Is it worth visiting in this week..3 of us are planning to come from Pune.

My view: if you didn't come today, it doesn't make any difference if you come tomorrow, next week or next month. The crowds were snowballing

Hi Paisa, we are still eagerly waiting to know which coins are they offering from this new coin shop.....

I took my Dad to buy the stuff... he only picked up First War set (I never got anything myself as I already had all that was offered). Else I think most of the last few years were there. But they only put up the list on the bulletin board and expected everyone to fill up the form by hand. Sorry, i didn't note them down.... the crowds were excrutiating i was quite happy that we were done and to be out of there  :D

Thanks Paise for updates. Can you please share price for First War set. I'm trying to understand how reasonably mint has priced the sets compared to dealers. And if it's worth to travel to Mumbai (from Pune) to buy 2 sets.

Thanks! I feel modest when people appreciate my dedication. That doesn't come quite often you know  ;D
Well, practically, I won't mind if I'll get couple of sets that I wanted to ever collect at half the price dealers are offering. Pune to Mumbai travel is not that expensive. And I would get good reason to visit Mumbai anyway. I just need to find the right purpose  :D

(1) Paise & Oracle are lucky to live in Mumbai. Paise is more luckier to get the support of his family members (Sis & Dad) in pursuit of his hobby.

(2) Paise managed 2nd position indicates that some fair-play still exists in Mumbai. On the contrary; during  Indipex (Delhi), I reached the SPMCIL counter well before the opening time; I still found 10-12 coin dealers ahead of me in the line.

(3) Must take phone number of the charming lady who is more dedicated to hobby than Paise.

(4) I heard rumors that mint is also selling some VVIP sets. If true, this is a positive steps. If I buy VVIP from a coin dealer, I pay huge amount and still I am not sure if my set is genuine or pirated. If I get it directly from mint, at least its genuineness is unquestionable. Paise please inform which VVIPs were available.
