New Coin Booking: 2012: Kolkata Mint Income Tax

Dear Friends

Wishing you a very Happy & Prosperous New Year 2012. It is understood that Kolkata Mint will start the booking of new commemorative coin sets from today. However, I think only 150 Years of Income Tax will be booked now.

Details are awaited.

There is an AD in today's Times of India.
Kolkata Mint has started booking of Income Tax coin sets.
Cost of proof set is Rs 4240 and cost of Unc set is Rs 3925/-
The booking period is from 2 Jan 12 to 29 Feb 12

Sanjay Can you clarify why there is price difference between Proof coin of C. Subramanian of Rs 3600 and Income Tax Proof Set Rs 4240, the difference of Rs 6440 and the amount of Metal including silver will be same between the coin sets.

Maybe Kolkata guys purchase their metals at a higher price.       
Maybe, Kolkata guys will donate 33% of amount to Income Tax Department   
(after all coin depicts a honey bee -which stings and takes your nectar)     

On a serious note, SPMCIL says that they are a profit oriented organization. Days of 'Desh Sewa' are over. They say that in order to maximize their profits, they are free to fix the prices of their products. They feel that if you like their prices, you are most welcome; otherwise no one is forcing you to purchase their items.

One reason may be  C. Subramanian  coin is Rs100  coin and Income tax coin is Rs150 .
