The Elysée Treaty coin will - at least that is the plan - be issued by both France and Germany. According to a recent article in MünzenMagazin, the coins will have the portraits and signatures of Charles de Gaulle and Konrad Adenauer. Also, they are to have the inscription "50 Years Elysée Treaty" in French and in German. Artists from both countries will work on several designs, and one will finally be picked for the coin ...

How can Germany issue two €2 commemoratives in 2013? By law they can issue only one if I'm not wrong? (Two in case of joint issues by ALL the countries?)

You are wrong ... well, as far as the "by law" part is concerned. ;)

As I wrote in the first post, the current limit is a recommendation published by the Commission. The Council endorsed that in a "conclusion", but such a conclusion is not binding law either. That is why the Commission has been trying for a while to have a regulation, ie. a binding legal act. See http://www.worldofcoins.eu/forum/index.php/topic,2722.msg68201.html#msg68201

(Edit) The Parliament (in May 2012) and the Council (in June 2012) both opted for a regulation with a binding limit of two commems per year. I wrote about that here http://www.worldofcoins.eu/forum/index.php/topic,14237.msg100037.html#msg100037

The Parliament/Council draft that I mentioned in the previous post has now been published, as an EU regulation, in the Official Journal:

REGULATION (EU) No 651/2012 OF THE EUROPEAN PARLIAMENT AND OF THE COUNCIL
of 4 July 2012
on the issuance of euro coins
Official Journal of the European Union (27.7.2012) L 201/135
http://eur-lex.europa.eu/LexUriServ/LexUriServ.do?uri=OJ:L:2012:201:0135:0137:EN:PDF

In other words, a euro area member state may now issue two commemorative €2 coins per year. See this topic:

Hi,
There is an error on the first post. The Maltese 2 Euro Commemorative Coin to be issued in 2013 will mark the Self Government of 1921, and not Majority Representation of 1887 which will be marked this year (2012).
