The Münzen-Messe (Coin Show) in Stuttgart has traditionally been at the same time and place as an antiques and militaria show. This year they will go separate ways, and the coin show will be at the Hanns-Martin-Schleyer-Halle in Stuttgart, on 5-6 April 2008 (Sat/Sun).

Not a big international event like the "main" World Money Fair in Berlin, but primarily for collectors in SW Germany. Due to the short term decision to have the coin show at the usual time of the year but at a different place, the calendar at http://www.schleyerhalle.de/ does at this time not list the Münzen-Messe yet ...

Stuttgart is too much of a drive for me. Have you been there before? Would the Mint participate?

An unidentified coin is a piece of metal. An identified coin is a piece of history.

No, Stuttgart is pretty far away for me too. In terms of mints, Utrecht or Brussels would be fairly close. :)

Problem with Stuttgart this year was that the coin show was close to being canceled. The combined show (including antiques etc.) was to be extended but most smaller dealers could not have afforded to stay away from their stores for several days in a row. Then the WMF "helped out", so now the coin show can be at the "usual" time of the year.

Different place, yes, but then this year's location would be different anyway. (The old Messe/trade show center, where the Stuttgart Münzen-Messe has been so far, is now closed.) And the Schleyer-Halle should be fine. The Baden-Württemberg Mint usually has a booth at the coin show, so I expect them to be there again this year ...
