As per the past record of Hyderabad Mint, they are likely to be circulation coins (fresh off the mint) in blister packing. I don't think they will be uncirculated coins (let alone the proof coins).

However, the photographs uploaded by Hyderabad mint on its website shows frosting / cameo on some coins

kansalji,

if they are not unc and they are not proof what can they be?  ;)

I think these will be ordinary coins which were made for circulation. Instead of releasing for circulation, Mint will gift wrap the coins (blister packing) for a price of Rs 250. Most likely these will be made on normal hi-speed presses using normal dies.

On paper, Unc coins are made in presses having low strike rate and with high pressure (pyar se).

forget pyar se.  there is a situation with cal mint that we need to take it up with higher authorities.

Thanks for the information posted.

I have one question about this coin booking which is happening. As I see the coins which are  displayed for booking, these are already in circulation and how different are these from the circulated coins as I see the price for each coin nearly 300.

Dear Deepak,

Yes, you are absolutely right that all these coins are all in circulation (with the exception of Bhagat Singh and Gur-ti-Gaddi).

But the Mint will issue these coins in a blister packing, like the images shown here. It is for this that the Mint is charging the premium.

Hey Abhay,

Thanks for the information,Its really wierd to charge so much with just a packing cover added to the coin.

Any ways I will go ahead and book the coins which are not in circulation,I wish I could have bought one copy of each coin but cannot afford because of the high price quoted.

I have not yet booked coins in Hyderabad mint, but for other mint bookings (Mumbai, Kolkata) I have sent DDs by SpeedPost or Courier (DTDC).

Vivek,
Get the DD from your banker payable at par at Hyderabad and send by Registered Post AD

I understand that you were haunted by the ghost of online booking not once but more.

I always make a DD and send it by Speed Post (no Registered AD).
