So what are 3 Sterners and where does this one come from?

It reads 3 Sterners on both sides, measures 25mm and is brass.

Found another using Google images.
From a Russian site http://www.capatob.info/collect/tokens4.html and translates to 4.155. Token (game?) (Italy?). "STERNERS", with no inscriptions. Diameter 28 mm, thickness 2 mm, the width of grooves 3 mm, yellow metal.

I have a piece - it is round, 26mm diameter, plain edge, rimmed on each side and apparently made from Bronze.

Then on one side only....  the word "STERNERS" in one line through the centre, in slightly slanted letters which are slightly different in style to those on the token in the first post of this topic.

Thanks Mr Paul Baker

I think your tokens have something to do with this company as they do produce a lot of token machines including a car wash.

So, I'd say it's Swedish.  ;D
Always willing to trade.  See my profile for areas of interest.

Looks like for the car-wash, perhaps could be used anywhere their machines are sold.

Sterners Specialfabrik AB Stationsvägen 12 780 51 DALA-JÄRNA

Google managed to translate this bit..

Payment System with Tokens.
Tokens are found in payment systems for many years. The technology is well established for example in car washes, solarium and camping industries.
In order to obtain tokens as a pollettväxlare be a great addition to a manned kiosk, or maybe the only option at an unmanned facility.
Today, Sterner offer several different payment options for obtaining tokens.
Cash via notes or coins, card VISA / MasterCard, or a combination thereof.

Ah. A token that tells all, except which city it came from. There is another "denomination" on Hastur: SCANDI SINGLE.

This one is a bit of a mystery. I imagine the tokens are/were used nationwide, and probably in Denmark and Norway as well. There is a company called Scandinavian Car Wash AB based in Norrköping; I've actually got these two tentatively filed under Västerås because an earlier company search yielded a similar hit there, which I now can't find again.

Figleaf

Västerås will do for me. Thank you.

Like candles on a birthday cake. Three stars is OK, but when there are too many, you stop counting. >:D

There are numerous Sterners tokens, with and without numbers, which all hail from the same company that Malcolm identified upthread in Dala-Järna.
