Got one (UNC condition) from my local supermarket. Lovely coin and awesome detailing.  :)

I know its out in circulation long time back and available with all the dealers but nothing like finding the coin in circulation and that too in UNC condition.  ;D
Warm Regards,
Mackie

My sister got one in change. Almost unc and struck very well. Good job by Mumbai mint!

Its just the Beginning...............Civil Aviation C mint also comes in two different Lion Varieties....and I am Still not been able to figure out which one is the Regular issue and which is Variety.....

Great. Civil Aviation is a news to me. thanks for the heads up.

Oracle, I definitely was not active in blogging last couple of weeks so missed the photos of ICMR lion variety. But  I agree with you that the news is pretty much old. I think PaisePagal might already know about the variety but might have been just humble/considerate enough to acknowledge the news from begineer collector like me  :D

we are all beginners and paise hasnt even started collecting yet.  These circulation coin collection is for students of the hobby like me.  The heavy hitters only collect rare sets in proof.  BTW there are 3 lions in the rupee symbol series not counting the mules.  i dont know whether to be happy or sad and inside sources tell me that 4th is a definite possibility.  i am begining to get flashbacks of the 2 rs copper nickel series.

you wont know him he used to work in one of our stores and now just runs errands for us.  he doesnt know anything about coins which is a reason i end up paying through my nose and never know what i will end up getting in the package when i open it.  he doesnt understand civil aviation so i told him to get the plane coin for the last 2 weeks with absolutely disastrous results.  I wonder what i will get he when he goes to look for the taraju coins.  he hasnt found those either.
