The publication says that these were the first tokens in 1821.. However, the first tokens for this island were issued 100 years earlier - in 1714 :

@ Bruce: The people of the St. Helena Museum were very friendly and helpful, when I asked them about the OD counterstamp. But they could not help.

@ Alex: Yes, these pieces are shown in KM, but they will probably never be in my collection. My pockets are not deep enough ... From which source is your picture of the RACanteen token?

supposedly there are only four known of the Royal Artillery St Helena token.

My one is here so this accounts for two!
