The Capture of Gibraltar was now depicted on the fifty pence.

Notice the rowing boats, above the word "OF".

The Battle of Trafalgar scene that appeared on the fifty pence in 2004 now appeared on the two pound coin.

Most of the 2005 set of circulation years continued to be issued for subsequent years. However, from 2006 until 2010 the Capture of Gibraltar design on the 50p, as seen in 2005, was replaced with a similar but different design.

In 2010 Gibraltar issued a penny with a Barbary partridge on the reverse design. This design was an amended version of the original penny design of 1988, except that the vegetation around the rim had been removed. The font used on the two designs is also different.

Also in 2010, the 5 pence design, depicting the Barbary ape, was somewhat modified. Previously the literal version of the denomination, "FIVE PENCE", had appeared at the top of the coin, while the numeral had appeared at the bottom. On the new coin, their positions were reversed.

As of 2012, the obverse of Gibraltar's circulation coins carry a new legend, which now includes the words 'QUEEN OF GIBRALTAR'.

Reverse of 10 pence, 2013.

In 2013, Gibraltar issued an amended version of the cannon design on the 10 pence, in which the literals and numerals were reversed. "10" now appeared at the top of the design and "TEN PENCE" at the bottom.
