No doubt it costs that much secondhand, I believe I saw it on Ebay for about that much. At least these are new.

I see mine is No.41 with pencilled in price of £62. ....that was 1990!

I produced a book three years ago on a similar small run and it worked out at around £3.50 a copy.  OK it wasn't a hardback and only 199 pages and didn't have any pictures or photos but it really did look the biz!!

I think this price is excessive.

The price is whatever the market will bear  ;)

But yes, from the point of view of an unemployed person who will also have to pay to have the thing shipped overseas, any of the prices quoted in the last couple of posts is excessive!

Paul can give you some impressive numbers on the hours of research in his books. Combine that with short runs and you get huge overhead.

I can give you even more impressive numbers, but I did it for love of the topic not any business reasons.

I had not seen even a picture of this before - the design seems to be as seen on the token in the first post of this topic.

Thanks Mr Paul Baker

I'm more impressed that £7.00 is for International Signed For Delivery to France, whereas Standard International postage is £9.00.

So did I, this one doubloon of 1751 appears to be similar but this time in stainless steel, non-magnetic, w: 9.3g a second example 9.0g, 28mm.
[double-check: weighed the two together = 18.3g] ;D

Another 1751 doubloon too, I thought better than that in the first post as its re-engraved to make it legible, but no, I see the other is too, and this one is the same right down to the same line and dot in the date 1751.
