According to this article (article in Portuguese), Angola is planning to issue new series of coins and banknotes which will not show portraits of nation's founding president Augstinho Neto and current head of state. New coins and banknotes are expected by year end.

Any related article in English is welcome. :D

OMG it's a madness hahaha. In that case, I supose that the 50kz coins will be also bimetallic, but I think that the article does reference to the 50 cents coin instead 50 kwanzas  ;)

Whatever, we will be out of doubts the next week  :)

 nice banknotes  but repetitive design ( represented only rivers and lakes ) , I prefer the current series
nice two bimetallic coins ! ( 5 and 10 Kwanzas )

<k>

Here's my edited version of the 10 kwanzas - the image was way too bright in my Powerpoint. This is the artwork rather than the real coin - the metal coin was not shown.

It is so curious like the "small coins" bear the National Bank emblem, and the "big" ones are depicting the National coat of arms.

The new 10 kwanzas coins also contain with a latent image inside the "0" of the numeral "10". All this security features for only 8 cents...  ::)

I noticed the latent image inside  the number "0"  , but I do not understand what is written?
