In India, these Maundy money sets sell for about Rs. 10,000.00 each (Roughly US$ 220 per set).

If the price he is asking is about right, fine. If it is too low, beware for the kind of scam where he asks you to send money first. Google his name anyway and see if he is on anybody's good or bad trader list. If you are still in doubt, ask him for a detail picture of one of the coins. You can make it sound like an innocent request, but in reality, it is to check if he really has the coins. If you have remaining doubts, tell him you want to buy one set a month, so your loss is limited to one set only if something goes wrong, or see if he is willing to send you the first set on approval (you have the right to send it back if you are not happy.)

An unidentified coin is a piece of metal. An identified coin is a piece of history.
