Should we clean coins?

Over another coin forum that I visit, there is a guy who invented VERDI-CARE.

Have any of you heard about this product?

Seen the results that he and others have received with the product especially on copper cents.

I want to get some to treat some of my coins once I sort out the logistics of getting it from the US to England.

Guy who invented it, does not want to go thru the hassle of sending it overseas since customs folks can be funny about sending liquids thru the post.

.......I keep on listening that coins will lose their value on cleaning.......

'Value' is not necessarily monetary value. A coin could loose a lot of information on it if not properly cleaned and would have thus lost its numismatic value....

I ofren clean coins, but in a way that it does not loose numismatic value. Also, a shiny modern coin looks good......... but a shiny Mughal copper Dam......... no way.
