Akbar 2 Tanki, Mint: Ahmedabad. KM#41.04
« on: August 25, 2011, 07:21:48 AM »
Here are two coins which by weight seem to be 2 Tanki coins issued by Akbar from the Ahmedabad mint.

Top one is month Mihr, Ilahi year 4X, weight: 7.4 g

Bottom one is Amardad or Khurdad, with the year totally of the flan, weighing 7.9 g.

Please help confirm attributtion.

. I presume the month is Shahrewar, there are still two symbols above it, which can otherwise not be explained.

I would read the month as Farwardin.

Dear Oesho,

A big thanks. I can see where I made the mistake on the lower coin........ Farwardin......the R, D, N are quite clear...... But I was really confident of my attribution of Mihr but now understand where I went wrong ...........Thank you once again
