In case of company logos and national emblems, there are rules regarding their dimensions.

Usually height to width ratio is strictly adhered so that the logo or emblem is not distorted.

If you measure height to width ratio of our lions, you will get surprising results...

I am fed up with the lion varieties..its blasphemy on the part of mint to invent new national emblem for every new coin...

For Civil Aviation: Bombay mint.

Now Chennai RBI issued Civil aviation and ICMR coin. I don't have time to go & purchase it, So I iwll purchase the above coin from dealer with 10% commision.

Hello Kishor
What is your opinion about quality of the coin? The one which I got from Mumbai Exhibition (Kolkata) are very poorly struck.
Many things are not very clear on the coin.

Hi Vivek,

Coin quality is not good, its look like Income tax coin (5 Rs). (but now a days I received good quality of Income tax from Chennai RBI counter).
Its (CAG) Kolkata mint.
I have digi camera (not DSLR), so I couldn't take pic clearly. I will send the pic to you, please shrink it and post it our forum, I'm unable to do it, because that site was blocked in my office.

Best Wishes,
Kishore

Any idea which of these two lions is the actual one and which one is the variety ?

kage01

The first one is hard to find while the second one is common. This is how it is for me but might be the reverse for some other collector so I cannot tell which one was meant to be the original issue!

well put.  that says it all

mumbapuri

are they in circulation in bbay? havent seen them...

from my prev experience on Tanjore temple coin, the fat lion was the one which took a bit longer time to source from circulation. but both the slim and fat lions were there in circulation....

hope thats the case with this one. :)

one small observation, the lion variety is only on obverse side, while the rev of both have the same earless or fat lions.
On a lighter side, the shield with the weighting pan and the book resembles a dejected face-mask :)
