How many mints does China have?

Four, as far as I know: Nanjing, Shenyang, Shanghai and Shenzhen.

Hmm, that page says "Mints are located in Nanjing, Shanghai, and Shenyang." Is the Shenzhen Guobao Mint not part of the CBPM then?

And agreed, no mintmarks. A while ago I read that, with Panda bullion coins, people check the plastic "wrapper" to find out where a piece is from. :) Would not work with circulation coins ...

I believe it is a private enterprise but with the blessing of the state.

I will do some checking in the near future.
