Aidan, In addition to the above:
The notes that came from the (Dutch) ATM were two brand new 10 Euro banknotes with serial code T and printer's mark K006, having successive serial numbers.
So these so-called "Irish" notes have been put into circulation in the Netherlands.
A French forum reports huge quantities of similar finds in France, and also in Germany. Also notes with printer's mark K005 have appeared in several countries.
So: Most of these notes (if not all) have not been put into circulation in Ireland but elsewhere. Hoping this will convince you.

A?dan, :)

The character T for the serial number is indeed of Ireland. Nevertheless, such as a3v1 wrote already, by the pool system, can be that the note has been spent by another national bank. It is very confusing. However, the character T is of the Irish national bank, which ordered printing of the note. It is possible afterwards 'bought' by another country that the note according to the new rules no longer print. Perhaps you better can read it yourself on the Internet site of the European central bank. The signature of Trichet can occur - until now - only on the T notes of 5, 10 and 20 euro because this are the only notes of which Ireland can order printing.

Sorry, do not know I saw a banknote with the signature of Trichet, have not paid attention real to. Because do not collect them. Will check my notes from now on and communicate if I have one.

One of the weblinks given by JeanPar explains exactly what I've been attempting to explain all the time. Thanks, Jean Par! :-*

Quote from: ECBOn 26 April 2001 the ECB?s Governing Council decided that, once the cash changeover had taken place, the production of euro banknotes should be decentralised and pooled. This means that, since 2002, each national central bank of the euro area has been allocated a share of the total annual production of euro banknotes covering only some of the denominations.
It says that Bank of Ireland since 2002 has been allocated a share of the total annual production of euro banknotes covering only some of the denominations.
This implies
a) Banknotes produced by Bank of Ireland will be put into Irish circulation only in so far as there's a need for them. The remainder will be put into the Eurosystem pool, and may used and be put into circulation by any other euro country.
b) The denominations not produced by Bank of Ireland, but needed for Irish circulation, will be taken from the Eurosystem pool and thus may be showing any of the other serial letters.

According to the most recent information from the ECB, the new euro countries have been assigned the following serial prefixes: Slovenia H, Cyprus G and Malta F.
When euronotes with these numbers will be printed has not been made public yet.

thanks to Arneman for translate

Geert,I don't think that there will be any announcement of when you will get the Slovenian,Cypriot,& Maltese Euro notes in circulation. They will be printed in secret & stockpiled. One day,you will end up finding them turn up in your change out of the blue. That's what I think will happen.

Has anyone seen any Euro banknotes with the new countries' code letters? I know that the Slovakian Euro banknotes haven't been printed yet.

While I don't always check my notes (see the Eurobilltracker http://www.worldofcoins.eu/forum/index.php/topic,1118.0.html topic), I have had notes from Slovenia so far. Don't know about Cyprus, Malta and Slovakia. These are the country codes used in the serial numbers:

Austria N
Belgium Z
Cyprus G
Finland L
France U
Germany X
Greece Y
Ireland T
Italy S
Luxembourg *
Malta F
Netherlands P
Portugal M
Slovakia E
Slovenia H
Spain V
