I found this image on my desktop PC. 

I cannot remember where I got it from.


In 1969, the only heptagonal coins were made at the Royal Mint (UK).

The UK 50 pence of 1969 was the first heptagonal circulation coin.

Interesting trial piece, thanks! Had not seen that before ... well, I suppose they tried the shape out, as the design is quite poor in my opinion. ;D The coin that was actually issued was basically round but with a rim of varying width which also resulted in a sort-of-heptagonal effect. More nicely designed too, hehe.
