John Savage.


John Savage was born in Littlestone, Kent, England in 1948. He later moved to Gillingham, Kent.

He has produced many fine coin designs, mostly for the Royal Mint (UK).

He attended Medway College of Art and Design, where he studied silversmithing and allied crafts, including chasing.

He attained a Full Technological Certificate of City and Guilds.

Bermuda, $1, 1985.


Of all John Savage's designs, this is my favourite.

It features a tourist cruise ship, with the Bermuda buttery (butter store house) in the foreground.
