John Savage.

John Savage was born in Littlestone, Kent, England in 1948. He later moved to Gillingham, Kent.

He has produced many fine coin designs, mostly for the Royal Mint (UK).

He attended Medway College of Art and Design, where he studied silversmithing and allied crafts, including chasing.

He attained a Full Technological Certificate of City and Guilds.

Mauritius, reverse design of the circulation 5 rupees, first issued in 1987.

John Savage produced this exotic design.

Bermuda, $1, 1985.

Of all John Savage's designs, this is my favourite.

It features a tourist cruise ship, with the Bermuda buttery (butter store house) in the foreground.

John Savage's design commemorated the end of World War 2 and the liberation of Guernsey.
