Edge marking of 1939 Gulden

The standard marking is GOD ZIJ MET ONS. How unusual is the spacing anomaly shown here?

In Dutch, IJ is one character, so the spacing is correct. ZIJ is derived from ZIJN, to be. IJ functions much like Y and Y is used mainly in words from foreign languages. Note the dots on ij below.

Thanks Peter, sorry for the delay in replying - another WoC email that went straight to Junk.
I thought that I should have known this but, I was around 10 when we left S.A. and according to family legend, barely civilised. My sister, older than I by a few years spoke fluent Afrikaans but when asked, couldn't remember the IJ usage either.
