Here are my latest acquisitions / donations

Apparently this one dates to around 1880. W & A Gilbey served the home market admirably and shipped their wines and spirits to the colonies.  It appears this was attached to the bottle.  "Saumur champagne is highly recommended by the medical profession."  They wouldn't get away with saying that these days!!

I once visited the Giant Barrel at the Heidelberg Castle and had a glass of wine there, you were allowed to keep the glass as a souvenir of the visit.

I still have mine.

For those whose Spanish is a little bit rusty, these are Argentine tokens and they include olive farm tokens. They were used to keep a tally on the wages earned by day labourers. You may not see many of these outside Argentina.

That said, the effort to publish is highly laudable. The author has around 300 pieces, a co-operative friend 200 and they acquired a great collection of about 1700 pieces that is not yet integrated in the book. In other words, there is a reason why the author has marked each page as provisional. Unfortunately, there is no new version for over a year now.
